The worst police experience I have ever encountered. One officer made a comment “this is domestic we don’t have time for this there are burglaries we need to be dealing with and there are only 5 of us and this is a waste of our time. I did not call them I wentnto the department and was re entering my home after returning and was assured an officer would be there as a safety precaution while i picked up some clothes and get to a hotel. The comments were hurtful and disappointing.

The Upland Police Department is an outstanding part of the Upland community. I have personally been involved with this department, been behind its doors, have taken part of their work, and have personally known many of its officers. I will say right now that this department has wonderful standards and is very committed to serving the Upland community they're charged with. The response times have improved, complaints have decreased, and the determination to be better has always been a daily factor. This department also gets involved with their community on a daily basis through many programs. One of their difference and life changing programs that I highly recommend and it has my full backing is Upland Police Departments Explorer program for the youth. There's no better way to involve the youth with training and education that is difference making, unforgettable, and potentially life changing. If you want to support your community, then support the Upland Police Department.

I've lived in the city since 2006. I've had 8 different crime/ theft experiences since living here. The lack of response and enforcement is just appalling. If you report a break in it might take 8hours to get someone to come out, sometimes no one comes at all. The transient and meth head problem is disturbing, the lack of response from the city is worse. The most recent incident, someone broke into my wife's car while we were on vacation. An arrest was made because the guy broke into multiple cars and someone saw and called it in. No charges were pressed for my wife's car because the guy had a warrant. Even though I insisted charges be filed. Upland always takes the easy and lazy way of doing things. I couldn't get her car fixed for almost 2 months because UPD refused to release the report to me(victim) and my insurance. Once they finally released the report, I had to pay for it $20 and it was full of redactions. When I lived out in Riverside and Riverside Sherrifs protected us, we had less officers and somehow much less crime. We would all be better off if we disbanded UPD and brought in the Sheriff's.

Absolutely, terrible.. My car was broken into so I called the police to file a report. Guess what six hours past and no police. The best part about it I received a phone call from an officer stating he was at 7 eleven and was on his way. I remind you that's right around the corner from my house. Then he calls back to tell me he received a hot call and as soon as he's finish he'll come by. I lived in San Bernardino and was treated better by their Police dept a least they had the decency to respond. How can the police pick and choose what's important. Their a sorry excuse of a Police force. I will be leaving this community what they call protect and serve is a joke. The crime rate is increasing what are they doing if there not responding to our calls? Disappointed!
