Point Defiance Elementary School

Wonderful school we have been here for 9 years total of 3 children and the school is wonderful. Great teachers, always open for communication and parent teacher interaction. Olga Lay is unfortunately moved on to a different school but we hope the new principle is as good.

I really wish I could say something more positive about this school, but I find I just can not. I have had 2 children at this school over the course of the last 5 years. There are some amazing teachers who really care and some who are just OK like at every school. My biggest issues are with the principle and her lack of communication with parents. Sadly, that same attitude flows down to the rest of the school from there. I do not think talking only with a child, who is 10 years old or younger, without speaking with the parent or parents is a professional way of handling any situation. My hope is that soon the principle will move on to another school and then there will be a chance of overall improvement under other leadership.

I went to school here, very nice school, welcoming and warm, Best option for you if you're looking for a good school.

Best school ever! So incredible to my daughter-in-law and grandson. Love that environment.

the best school I've ever had my child in... teachers are amazing... Mrs Severson is one on the best... the principle is amazing... the program is awesome... they give lots of homework and are expecting a lot from kids and this made my son progress... loved it... I am sorry i moved... i would give 10 stars... the kids were all from good families... one of the best... loved it...
