I went to this elementary school when I was a kid. I've dealt with a lot of mental abuse from the staff there. I remember a kid had me pinned against the wall and the principal was five feet away. We made eye contact and she quickly looked away. Verches was her last name. I don't know if she's still alive but if she is, I hope she sees this and i hope her conscious kills her. The rest of the staff felt it was necessary to make me feel like I had some sort of eating disorder because I wouldn't eat their food. And if I packed a luncheables, they'd get mad at me and tell me it wasn't enough. The food they had was disgusting and sometimes they'd run out of food. Since I was a kid I've always dealt with body image issues and the treatment I got from the staff made it worse. I only hope kids currently enrolled never go through what I went through.

This school has the best autism program in the LAUSD everyone there is so sweet and all loved my daughter. The teachers as well as their aids were to attentive and strived for the best for my daughter. Was truly sad to leave it when we had to.

I went to Gridley Elementary between 1999 until I graduated 5th grade in 2005. I had Mrs. Aslan + Mrs. Lowe, Mrs. Jagidar, Mr. Cruz, Mrs. Croituru(I think thats how its spelled) and Mrs. Hermesmeyer. I loved it and have such wonderful memories of this school. Another memorable teacher was Mr. Acevedo. He wasn't my teacher but some days the classes would switch off to others to learm about something new..he always bragged about his hair and how pretty his hands were lolnnFast forward to 2017 --- my daughter is now enrolled at Gridley and the majority of those teachers are still there! Saw a few of them a couple weeks ago and they look exactly the same!nnMy daughter was apart of the PALS program with Mrs. Doud, Ms. Patty and Ms. Maria. Those three women are AMAZING. Very attentive, kind, great with the kids and fun. Seriously, go give those ladies a raise! Haha If I could I would have kept my daughter in there another year but now we are moving on to Kindergarten at a new school.nnThis school if anything looks even better than it did when I went there. Very clean and updated playgrounds. Kind and helpful staff in the office and nice kids. Everyone was very attentive. Sad to leave the school but hoping we can go back someday! :)nn& if the teachers mentioned are reading this.. hello from a former student you helped shape during childhood into the adult I am today! :)
