This was the best elementary school I could have asked for. I would not give up a day at that school for the world. Im now a sophomore in high school. That place shaped who I am with its teachers and love and support. I miss it.
Third Street School is a good school overall. The teachers are mostly nice, except that some of them aren't very nice and just focus on certain kids and a few of them give lots of homework for no reason. I don't want to single any teacher out, but one of them randomly singled out the kids out who were bad. There are some kids that went there and cursed a lot, but most of the kids were super nice and helpful. In my grade, there were lots of rude and name-calling boys, but the other half of them are nice and all of the girls are super smart and nice (except for some of them). The KDLP program was nice, but I was never in their classes (since I'm not Korean). But if you're of any Asian heritage, prepare to be put into a KDLP program (whether or not you need it or are not Korean). The lunches were the typical LAUSD kind of horrible ones. Not too much drama unless someone starts a rumor, then prepare for 193924 years of hearing about the rumor. The bathrooms- don't even get me STARTED on how disgusting the girls' restrooms were! Toilet paper wads plastered to the ceiling, toilets never flushed and the air always smelling like poo, the floor covered in pools of unknown liquids, six-year-old's randomly in there for 30 minutes and making the sinks filled with oceans of water and stuffing random blobs in the stalls, toilet paper littered everywhere (they don't have pads or tampons if u have ur period jsyk, but I can understand why). I really don't know about the boys' restroom, since I'm not a boy, but I'm pretty sure in first grade I was pushed in there by some random dude for a 'prank' (this behavior is not uncommon). There are no drugs or smoking here! Staff is good at breaking up bullying, but sometimes they go too far... For instance, my friend was rolling around in the grass with my other friend, and a staff member randomly yelled at them and made them sit out for recess (we were in the highest grade??) and for them to tell their parents. The library- ah, the librarians! OKAY. THE LIBRARIANS HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT FOR THE CHILDREN. THE PARENTS TRIED TO GET RID OF THEM, BUT THERE WAS SOME SORT OF TEN YEAR DEALIO FOR LAUSD. Yeah they're really mean.... But anyways, the children are nice, the teachers are nice, the programs are nice- well, the drama program is... pretty good, the music is kind of horrible, and the teachers give lots of good knowledge to the kids. Overall, it's a good school! If you want to send your kids here, you should, since it's good! Also, the technology is pretty swaggy. My best friends and great memories were made here, and I think your children can do that, too! I graduated here last year.
My daughter goes to this school. She has been bullied but the principals solved it.
This is really a good school , good teacher
