So worth the stop.. super awesome curator and great displays inside.. free to see tour but the outside equipment could use some upkeep but still the displays were very cool

This gem is a must see for any military history buff or military connected folks in the Pacific Northwest. Although it is currently closed due to COVID, when open it is also accessible to the public.nThe renovation is beautiful and worth coordinating a visit.

Cool Army museum, but the indoor exhibits are closed due to COVID. The outdoor exhibits with tanks, cannons, missiles and Jeep’s is still open though. They need to better maintain the exhibits and put out new informational placards.

Been waiting to experience this museum, not being a member of the military and got a relative to get me on base. There are relics of Fort Lewiss' history in the form of armor, vehicles, artillery, small arms and uniforms. Education regarding conflicts the Army armed service and the development of the Pacific Northwestare also featured. Unfortunately, the museum is not fully operational as of October 2017 and there is the promise of more exhibits and gift shop. After several renovations, closures and re-openings, over the last decade, I wonder if we will ever be able to garner the full experience of this hidden-in-plain-sight feature of the Puget Sound.

Once you get past the front gate requirements you can finally see the part of base that it visible from the traffic on I5. Some really neat displays but all of the descriptive plaques were missing, I assume for updating.
