I've heard a lot of bad things about our police dept. However, every experience I've had with them has been good. They have always shown respect, and concern. I know there are bad cops, just like there is in any field. However I think the majority of our officers are doing the best they can with what little resources they have. Often times our reflection of the cops has more to do with what side of the law we are on. Not in all cases, but in most.nnI believe we have good officers doing their best to keep our town safe. Thank you to all of our Officers/Sherriffs. You are appreciated by many.ud83dude01

They do a great job enforcing the speed limit and stop sign laws, since you can tell who is from Bakersfield and who isn't (by who actually stops at a stop sign). Officer Altenhofel did a great job protecting TC.

REPORTED SPEEDING MOTORCYCLE. TOOK PICTURES OF THE MOTORCYCLE UP TO THE OFFICE. WITH LIC # WHERE HE LIVED. MONTH AGO. THE GUY STILL SPEEDS UP AND DOWN THE STREETS. SO WHY WASTE MY TIME TRYING TO HELP TAFT WHEN POLICE DON'T CARE.
