Pend Oreille County Historical

Such a wonderful place to educate yourself and get the feel of traveling through time! The girls talked about this more then anything else we did on our vacation!!! Every part of this place is breathtaking! The ability to walk through each era and show the kids how it all started was mind blowing and so rewarding! The staff was friendly and it was incredibly priced for what we were able to see and do!

Great museum, especially for such a small town. Me and my kids love it. Note: they have started charging for entrance tho, but it's a small fee $5, I believe. Very reasonable

Don't pass through Newport without stopping here! Love the little cabins in back. Clothes for dressing up and shooting selfies. Fire tower. Lots of little hidden surprises. I almost missed the tiny chapel outside the main gift shop building. I have visited multiple times and always enjoy it. They have an archivest available too, if you ate looking for specific info about something or someone in the area.

The caboose, war exhibits, and the schoolhouse exhibit were all well done. I loved seeing the historic tools, the historic communications equipment, and the historic fire lookout tower. It is a great and varied museum.
