Putnam Plumbing - Plumbers in St George Utah

The first time I used the Putnam Plumbing service was a good experience. They hooked a gas dryer. The price for the visit was fair and comparable to other companies. Based on that first visit, I called the Putnam Company again and this time to install a 40 gallon electrical water heater. The appointment was made for the day after the call. The scheduler said: "our plumber will see you in between other jobs, not sure but will be probably mid morning." The day of the appointment got a call at 10:03 AM confirming that plumber will be coming but in the PM. Then got another call at 3:43 PM saying that the plumber would be coming, just got a delay. Another call at 6:45 PM plumber was on it's away. Plumber arrived just before 7 PM. I supplied the water heater and it was available in the property. THE DAY BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT I sent a picture of the fittings so plumber could have ALL the parts with him to perform the job the next day. AFTER arriving at the house at 7 PM plumber had to go to Lowe's to get the parts he needed! Job finished at 9:50 PM. Complete job was: Pull toilette to access the water heater closet at $325.00 Install the water heater that I SUPPLIED $600.00 Parts purchased at Lowes $175.00 Total...$ 1,100.00....and then minus $100.00 late hours work!!) "landlord discount!" MY BILL TOTAL WAS $1,000.00 their LABOR COST ALONE WAS $275.00 PER HOUR. PUTNAM PLUMBING IS PRICE GAUGING!!! I only posted this after having talked to the owner the day after the services provided. He was rude and not ready to LISTEN and understand my concern. Speaking over me and complaining I was not listening to him. He said " I was nice" to allowing my plumber to discount the $100.00 from the $1,100.00! Again THE ONWER refused to present the receipt showing they paid $175.00 for he parts!!! Just for fun, I will check those prices at low, I might be surprised again! I'm paying the $1,000.00 bill as presented. I'm very concerned about customers that might not be prepared to receive such SURPRISING CHARGES. If I knew tin advance that they would show up AFTER HOURS and I would have called someone else and scheduled accordingly to avoid extra charges and the ridiculous ALL day waiting for them. I was not given that opportunity and instead got calls throughout the day telling me "the plumber is just delayed but he is coming! RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I'm 82 years old and still working hard on my little business. I never posted reviews before and have worked with other services willing to listen to their customers. Not that case here. Folks be aware about this kind of unfair practices. Take Care!

One of their plumbers came to our home this last week and gave us some simple advice for a small leak. They could have charged us for a trip charge, but didn't do so. Small act of kindness and solidified our desire to use them in the future. Thank you Putnam Plumbing.

Today is not the first time we've used Putnam Plumbing. They are my absolute go to for all things plumbing. They are fair and thorough. They work hard to get the job done right the 1st time. As a homeowner, we know our limits and plumbing isn't our strong suit. Glad Putnam is there when we need them (or screw something up). Highly recommended!
