I go Railfaning In There and Some Days I go for a Train Ride.
There are two tracks at this station but they are not necessarily dedicated for North or south bound trains. Going south, the train seems to generally stay on track 1. Going north, You have to pay attention because even the train on the same schedule might one day be on track 1 and the next day it is in track 2. There is a restaurant at this station, good food and service. A lot of homeless folks in the area.
Location: Decent. Not much going on in this area. Lots of businesses, but not much you're going to be visiting if you're waiting for a train.nnStaff: Doesn't exist. You occasionally hear an announcement over the PA system. However there seems to be only 1 speaker for it. So unless you're standing under it, you really cannot hear anything. Even more so if you're across the track at the other waiting area. There is also only 1 sign that displays the train status. Not so useful unless you're near it.nnSecurity: Might be a camera or two. Beyond this, you rely on the businesses around the train station to look over you. No sign of staff or security patrols. Rarely even see police patrols. Its not entirely unsafe. However the homeless do hangout at the station. Though I've never had issues with them. They tend to hang out, relax, and they will talk to you now and again. They seem like regulars that go there to meet up, and just relax and stay out of the sun.nnSeating: Decent seating inside. Not much though. Several benches outside & across the track. As the station has (2) waiting areas, but it requires you to cross the track, depending on which way your train is coming from.nnAmenities: Restaurant onsite. However its not part of Amtrak. So they do have different hours.nn- There is a bathroom on-site. Yet its never open during the many times I've been at this station.
What are the best stations in the area free parking great restaurants in the area friendly service
Nice looking station. Not enough off street parking for the amount of ACE train traffic. You can leave your car overnight in the off street parking.
