Berkeley Amtrak Station has improved, but lacking any bathrooms or business near by, where once Brennan's was next to the platform, that restaurant, bar was a great place to go watch the game, get out of the weather, becuase at night, well the station is lite better, but somewhat isolated and not the safest place to just wait for a ride. Besides the sardine-housing, the closest bathroom, eatery is 3 blocks away.nnAlthough, Buses coordinate well with the train schedule, city workers for the last year have been pressure-washing to cleanup what was a homeless haven for many years, there is an emergency phone, there are lots of benches, thrash bins, digital schedule updates, bicycle lockers, about 20 meter parking spaces (only 2 disabled parking spaces), handicap accessible, the University freeway offramp is overhead of the station to give shelter during the rainy months.nnWe use this location about once a month.

Often homeless people camp out at the station in the winter. Other than that, it’s pretty clean

Automated train station with plenty of benches and space to await your commute. A few trash cans on site. Announcements play near train arrival times, warning you of incoming trains and delays. The AC Transit 51B stops right at this stop and drives by Berkeley's north and downtown BART stations, UC Berkeley, and arrives at Rockridge BART.

There's no attendant here or indoor place at all. But there is a kiosk to buy a ticket and some benches to sit on while you wait.
