The Living Arts & Science Center

A great local science museum with various monthly exhibits. Very hands on and interactive with the artwork and the science, great for kids of all ages. One of the best things about the LASC is the planetarium. It houses the only planetarium in Lexington within a 25 mile radius. I volunteer here and have a blast working with the kids and seeing the exhibits myself. A must visit place in Lexington, and oh, did I mention it is free Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm?

We really enjoyed our trip. The staff was awesome and we learned about animal habitats and how they can adapt to their surroundings even when they're harsh. We spent about 1.5 hours and could have stayed a bit longer to see the art. Ages were 2-8 but I also enjoyed it!

The planetarium was amazing! Everyone was so knowledgeable and kind! Free to wander around and totally worth checking out.

My son had a field trip here today and it was great , they have so many hands on activities and so many things for kids to learn! All of the kids had fun and recommend that other kids come check it out, I asked the kids what part was their favorite over half said the habitat exhibit , and the rest liked the area where they made paper bats. (The animal lol) I would definitely encourage you to bring your children here!
