Fayette County Clerk's Office

They always take the time to explain things to me, even if it is on the website. I love the Fayette County Clerk's staff. I call a lot. The Fleet Renewal department is so efficient. I think they are the best staff for patience, and tolerance and I've asked some stupid questions. They are very kind, always have been. Nora Ward

The lady who helped me was very nice and considerate. That being said, what a scam. I went to title an out of state vehicle with notarized Ohio title in hand. Had to pay tax as expected. Nowhere on their website does it say a notarized bill of sale is required/needed. They charged me $150 for this. Then they charged me over $11 for using a credit card to pay, which is absurd as visa/Mastercard charges them pennies.

Scheduling an appointment was difficult. Had to wake up early and sign up online for an appointment two weeks out. But when I got in, no problem. Employees were friendly and understanding. They are treating covid safety precautions seriously too!

I sent my complete paperwork in two weeks ago and the clerk entered the information into the computer. I still dont have my tags! I called everyday last week and was hung up on by clerks and their phone. No one should have to wait that long for tags! I am going into 3 weeks now.

Terrible. Online resources are garbage and not updated. Office is closed to the public but there is absolutely no signage indicating that. There was a line of people waiting in the cold. When I finally got a hold of a person at the office on the phone, she was completely indifferent to the fact that there were people waiting in the cold for an office that will never open. Unacceptable.
