Wings Airways & the Taku Glacier Lodge

Taku Lodge and WINGS airways was the highpoint of our Alaska vacation.nnWe were greeted by a cheerful and professional staff (Holly and Sam), who introduced us to our pilot for the trip (Captain Tony).nnWe boarded one of the 5 DeHavilland Otters, perfectly maintained and operated by WINGS.nnThe takeoffs and landings were perfect.nThe flight between the mountains and over Taku glacier was more than perfect (if there is such a thing).nnTaku lodge is a gem. The trail and the views are amazing. An experienced guide provided the history of the lodge and site.nnThe salmon lunch provided was well paired with side dishes and well presented.nnAfter lunch, we were flown back to the WINGS dock which is convienently located next to the cruise ship pier.nnThis adventure is not to be missed.nWorth every penny......nnMike I

This is beyond an amazing excursion. The plane ride was the best view of the glaciers. Kyle was our pilot and he was great. The salmon bake experience was delicious. I can’t imagine anyone not rating this anything but 5 stars. It was an experience of a lifetime

We had an incredible experience flying up to the Taku Lodge. It was an experience we will never forget. The pilot was friendly, the flight was smooth, and the views were amazing.nnOnce we got to the lodge, the staff was very welcoming and knew all about the history of the property. The meal featured salmon caught on the Taku River, and we had an opportunity to walk on trails around the lodge after we finished. This experience was worth every penny.

Our pilot's name was Bruce. He made us feel safe and showed us so many beautiful sites. He was the nicest man, and if we ever get the chance to fly with Wings Airways again, we would request Bruce as our pilot. He pointed out many different points of interest to make sure we would see them and get pictures of them. We are so grateful for the opportunity we had and that Bruce was our pilot.
