I've lived in the Spokane/Spokane Valley area since I was 6, now 29 I went here for the first time and even though there weren't many animals to view (late May), it was an unbelievable experience I want to do again! Seeing animals such as tigers, bears and wolves was very cool and somewhat spiritual for me. It was $20 for both my husband and I, our two year old was free. They do take donations, both money and food. They have a specific list of food, so if you're interested call or check out their website.
The staff is amazing, the animals appear healthy and well fed. With that being said, the enclosures definitely need upgrades. The wolf hybrid and coyote enclosures are disturbing. I would love to see a community fund raiser arranged to assist in upgrading their enclosures. I would be happy to participate. I think the animals best interest is at heart but definitely lacking enclosures to house these animals appropriately.
They do great work with rescue animals. Too bad they are not able to have more space for the animals. The price might seem high but it's for a good cause
These animals are in incredibly sad conditions. Little to no stimulation or shelter as well as cramped poorly constructed enclosures. Chain link fences with concrete floors and their beds are cramped wooden dog houses. Many of the animals seemed stressed pacing and running back and forth or in circles. It can’t be any help that many of them have enclosures with no barrier other than a fence next to animals they would normal prey upon (such as the wolves being placed directly next to the coyotes) in enclosures that are the size of a small car.nI’ll give credit that the animals do not appear diseased or malnourished and the staff is kind, it’s just depressing to see them in these living conditions
A great place to take your kids. You can tell that they take excellent care of the animals there.
