My first base from 1988 - 1990, loved it there. Fishing, hunting, camping, skiing, what more could you ask for. Trinity mountain campground and Featherville are fantastic destinations if you want to be in the midst of the mountains. Great area to raise children.

I enjoyed being stationed there.Really liked the fishing and hunting also.Might snow in the morning and be gone by noon. Some very hot days working on very hot F111's.Got to see an SR71 land there and watch it take off.Awesome times

Based there from 2000-2005. Very different if you're used to living in a city. Also, the seasons are extreme...summer super hot...winter super cold. Overall...I really enjoyed it there. Miss it! Check out Silver City when you get a chance. 4x4 up the mountain. Worth seeing! Hope you enjoy!

Stationed at ol MH from 1983 to 1986. Long time ago but I remember my time there very clearly. Liked my job as a lab tech at the hospital. Since I was young I didn't mind the call. Make the rate of buck SGT before my enlistment ended.nLearned to ski here and volunteered on base with the outdoor program. OP taught me about white water rafting.nA good place to be stationed if you like the outdoors and don't mind driving to it. Didn't make too many trips to Boise but its a fun city.nThe Saw tooth Valley is one of my favorite places on earth. Papa Hemingway country. Made trips to Utah, Yellowstone and Montana.nRough place to be a single male but it helps if you can entertainment yourself with little opposite sex company.nTook me some time to adjust to the stresses of the New York City area after my enlistment . Yearned for mellow and simple Idaho. Didn't last too long in NYC and moved to the Pacific NW.nMake the best of Idaho!.
