Informative little hike with a museum and ancient ruins. Every first Sunday of the month is free for New Mexico residents! This is a great spot off 550, an easy walk path with covered areas and one heck of a spectacular view. The hours are 10 to 4 so try to have at least 30 minutes to explore, there are a couple of trails to wander around the area and the Bosque. Staff was awesome to talk to and restrooms were clean and available. Good exercise and photography opportunities.

Desolate beauty... When I looked around, it was difficult to imagine anyone living there, especially before modern grocery stores.nnI really enjoyed the “Primitive Trail” that is out behind the ruins. My three children loved walking along the Rio Grande River. The tall grass that was growing along the riverbank had the greatest color!nnOnly $5 entrance fee. Kids under 16 are free.

So much great history here... Sits right on the Rio Grande.... Very interesting to see how that ancient Pueblo Indians lived...

Vfery nice and historic ruins. The Kuaua pueblo had 1,200 rooms and many are exposed (some are buried to preserve them). There is a small and very informative museum. The most interesting thing is that you can see the ONLY kiva murals in the US. That was impressive (sorry, no photos allowed). Another important thing is that there is a reconstructed kiva that you can enter (but not in March 2021 due to COVID restrictions). The pueblo is very close to the Rio Grande and you can walk close to it with great views.
