Rode by this place everyday on my drive to Monahans from Pecos back in 2019 and finally had the chance to stop and check it out. Can't really access the base itself but checked out the monuments they had and was pretty interesting. If your ever driving on 20 and have a little time check it out.
I'd love to check it out but I only get tagged because I work for the railroad and we spend hours parked right across the road. Google the history, that's pretty great. Wave (honk) at an engineer sitting there looking to get home.... even better.
Some history there,was a ww2 airforce base
Very nice historical site
William Dale Sr served here flying B-29s as a pilot and married my mother at the base chapel.
