Lovely hotel with the nicest staff. Love the room decor and the bar downstairs. The bed was comfortable, but bring your own pillow. Theirs are not ideal. Check in was extremely slow. I had to wait at least 20 minutes while the two clerks behind the counter tapped on their computers to check in the two guests in front of me. I have no idea what took so long! After that, though, things got better. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel to my friends.

Excellent service from an excellent staff. This place is the nicest hotel in Baton Rouge. It used to be the Louisiana National Bank building. They did an amazing job converting it into a hotel. It’s an Autograph by Marriott. The rooms are really nice. The entire property is very clean & open.nnI highly recommend The Watermark!

Stayed there a few days ago.nnThe hotel itself is nice. The rooms are updated and clean, and the building has a lot of historic charm to it. The property itself is great.nnThe valet, front desk, and housekeeping staff were all great as well. They were all courteous, helpful, and mindful of COVID cleanliness/distancing.nnThe restaurant is where they were singing a bit of a different tune. I tried to sit down to get a drink. They sat me at the edge towards the walkway, which is totally fine. The hostess said the bartender would be out to get my order. About ten minutes go by, and nothing. Admittedly it was busy (I think there was a wedding that night), so I'm thinking they're just busy, and I chose to say nothing just to see what would happen.nnNothing. Nobody came by to see what I needed, nobody checked in. I thought maybe I needed go up somewhere to order, but then they sit down this group of four at the table right next to me. I wait to see what happens. They took their order in a matter of minutes. The hostess definitely looked at me, and continued to just go on about her business.nnThe one important bit of context I should add is with every single guest, and all the restaurant staff working combined, I was the only person of color.nnI'm not saying they necessarily actively discriminated, but if you're that one person of color in a room full of people who aren't, it's hard to see past that.nnCan't remember the last time I ever felt that unwelcome and uncomfortable.nnOh, not to mention the restaurant was packed. The staff wore masks, but nobody else did, and if that wedding event doesn't end up becoming a super spreader event, I'll be pretty surprised.nnThe building still was nice and the other staff were great which is what gets two stars, but nothing else merits one.

Yo their bathrooms are loud! Loved the hotel and history of the bank, but the bathrooms... dang.nnThe restrooms aren't sound proofed. When in the restroom, you can hear whoever is in the room. When someone is in the restroom, who ever is in the room can hear you. No matter if both the door and screen are closed.nnAfterwards, enjoy the complimentary coffee and bottled water. Enjoy the hospitality, the gym, the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere. It's a vault of rooms!!

Beautiful hotel. I woked their as a house person for a few months. The head supervisor has his favorites. The general manager even left after I left so that's a lot within itself. Beautiful place to stay wouldn't recommend working in the housekeeping department. It's located within walking distance of everything and the police station is directly diagonally across from the hotel.
