Golson Elementary School

Your child may be being bullied, and your child's school, #GolsonElementary will do everything they can to sweep it under the rug! Concerned teachers, parents, and staff that wish to put an end to bullying in our neighborhood schools, please share this post! My son goes to Golson Elementary school. He is 7 years old. He has been bullied on the bus for months. I have personally talked to Mr. Dewitt (Vice Principal) and Mrs. Allen (Principal). 6 months ago, my son started acting differently after school. He explained that kids were calling him names. Since then, the issue has progressed to violence. After making several attempts to get Golson, the bus driver, and even the police to do something, nothing has happened just yet.nnHowever, in the mean time, my son got off of the bus yesterday crying! He had red marks and bruises on his back, neck and face. See the images attached to this post. After asking him what happened, he explained that 4 middle school children (ages 12 and 13) beat him on the bus with belts and rulers. He said he tried to ask the bus driver for help but he was told to sit back in his seat.nnMy fiance and I went to the school for probably the 20th time in the last 6 months looking for a resolution to this issue. We even got the police involved. However, the school never showed the police the video. They told me that the angles were not good and one camera was not working. While they did see one of the kids that was swinging the belt, they did not see contact with my son, therefore, nothing would be done.nnPlease any parents that have had any similar situations, speak up! Respond to this post and share your story. I have a meeting coming up with the Sheriff tomorrow, I will also be meeting with the superintendent, Larry Moore and I am awaiting a response from Pat Stewart, Florida State Commissioner of Education. In the mean time, I have had various conversations with attorneys and intend on pursuing this case as far as I can until something is done!nnYour child may be too afraid to speak up as mine was in the beginning. Sit down with him or her and find out if this is happening before your child comes home with welts and bruises as the result of belts and rulers in the hands of other children while those who are SUPPOSED to be taking care of them do nothing.nnNeedless to say, my son will not be returning to Golson. I am enrolling him in home school by Monday. Nonetheless, I will not stop my pursuit of justice on this case until Mr. Dewitt, Mrs. Allen, and Mr. Sims (The bus barn manager) are fired and/or arrested. They are failing our children and something needs to get done.nnA quick message to you unethical bastards at Golson Elementary, you have allowed my child to be hurt for the last time. I will be bringing your bullying form (which might I add you didn't even tell us existed until we were 5 months in), and you better move forward with a full investigation because I will spend every second of my time, every dollar in my pocket and every ounce of my being to come after you until you are held accountable for the torture my son has been through under your care for the last six months.
