Uncommon Grounds

Great breakfast is my go-to for morning meetings and brunch with friends. I feel bad for not backing up Uncommon while they got dinged here and there. I don't speak for anyone else; it's just that I've never had a problem at Uncommon and in fact had many exceptional meals there. All of their egg scrambles are awesome, especially the Mexican one that comes in the tortilla shell. My wife the pancake connoisseur says Uncommon's are the BEST in Boston, hands down, better than Deluxe Town Diner, Soundbites or Ball Sq. Cafe. Their lemon ricotta pancakes are the best traditional pancake I've ever had (by traditional I mean NOT the crazy stuff at the Original Pancake House out of Oregon or weird flavors at Pancake Pantry in Nashville). Also, their gluten-free pancakes are the only ones worth paying money for, as they're comparable to a good regular pancake. I've been mighty impressed with their lunch offerings, including the Reuben, and my daughter loves their wraps. I think they make a great latte, including some seasonal ones to reflect the holidays. The baked items are good. The homemade soups are good, including an awesome vegetarian chili that I recently had - and I'm usually Mr. Carnivore. Prices are like a dollar or two cheaper than Deluxe Town Diner, plus I think it's a bit cleaner than Deluxe as well. Sorry to hear from some people that it used to be so much better...I can only imagine!

Great breakfast! Service was a little lacking but not a big deal. The food more than made up for it.

To put it simple I got the avocado toast. The entire thing tasted like it was dunked in vinegar. The poached eggs were rubbery and extremely over peppered. Do not recommend and will not go again.

So delicious! Great options on their menu. I recommend the coconut French toast!

This place is pretty amazing. Even through the pandemic they have managed to hang on, and I couldn't be happier. The food is so good! We usually get breakfast there at least once a week! I do hope they keep the expanded outdoor dinning after the pandemic is over though!
