Boise National Forest

It is just a short drive up Hay 21 from Boise. Within an hour of downtown, you can be out in the woods, enjoying fresh mountain air. If you have a 4-wheel drive, take advantage of the many forest service roads up to mountain peaks with lookouts on top to get amazing vistas. Lots of opportunities for year round outdoor activities of all kinds.

Beautiful place to visit

Absolutely beautiful. Breathtaking views. The really remote roads were actually pretty good. We really couldn't go much over 20 or 25 though because the gravel makes you kind of slide around. But who wants to go fast when you're looking at such a beautiful scenery.
