Giant cottonwoods offer cool summertime shading. Surrounded by the twin rivers of the Conejos. Quiet, serene getaway offers several cabins and plenty of RV spaces. Only walking distance to the fly shop and world class trout fishing.

I stayed here one night in a cabin and it was really comfortable. I needed a place just to park myself and rest after a few days camping and hiking in the national parks and this did the trick. It was clean and tidy and even had a little kitchen for cooking. The area is a bit mundane, but I wasn't planning on leaving the cabin. If you're looking for somewhere to base some adventures, I'd maybe go a bit closer to the mountains.

My husband and I stayed in one of the cabins over Labor Day weekend. Was very clean, cute decorations. Was happy to have a fridge & a mini-range as well as a microwave, toaster, & coffeemaker. Staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.

If you're looking for beautiful scenery or you want to be close to nature or you just want literal peace and quiet this is the place. I'll always love Mogote Meadow not just because it was breathtakingly beautiful in that area of Colorado but because the owners were salt of the earth. We had to be in that area for my boyfriend's solar project for a month before campground season opened. The owners were kind enough to allow us to stay there at that time. We lived there for six months until the job was finished and it was a peaceful 6 months. The owners have activities throughout the week. and if you're not into that you can just hang out in your RV or tent or whatever your accommodations are and watch the sky and see the beautiful stars. Or take a walk and discover the Conejos River or the Elk Ranch right next to the campground. It's at the southernmost tip of the southern part of Colorado but no matter how low you'll never be down. I'd recommend it to anyone. The only caveat is the internet, it exists but you may need to bring something to boost service.
