The history of Long Island's racing scene, provided by one of the few remaining racers, Mr. Himes. A must-visit for anyone into racing history, Long Island history, and anyone wishing to travel back in time for a while.

I can see why this place is rated so highly. This place is unlike any other museum you're going to visit around the area.nnTo us, is was the perfect place to start a day trip in Bay Shore. The Himes brothers were accomplished racecar drivers back in the day, and have all the memorabilia to prove it.nnFrom power cars that they used to race on Long Island race tracks, to championship-winning cars donated by other drivers, and kid-carts that they assembled themselves in their youth, this place has it all. To me, the centerpiece of the collection was a 1900s Penny Farthing bicycle.nnAll in all, this is a fantastic place run by the two brothers.

The museum is probably one of the coolest places I’ve ever found on Long Island… Met with Marty today and his brother and we got the tour of a lifetime, learned a lot about the racing history of Long Island. These guys are a cornucopia of history. Help with the politicians in the builders guys like Marty are the guys that make Long Island a Memoral place and build history here.
