I converted our electric oven to a natural gas range.Cassidy plumbing did an outstanding job, the workmanship was exceptional. It was not an easy install.nBernadette in the office was excellent to work with throughout the process.nPatrick the owner was on site when they started the job.nI would highly recommend Cassidy plumbing.nThank younJimmy G
I hired Cassidy Plumbing to install the pipes and vent for a washer/dryer inplace of where a sink would have to be. Pat came to do the estimate, was really patient in describing what would be required and walked me through the basics of plumbing and code to help me understand. (I actually got another estimate and even though they came in slightly cheaper, when I asked them if they'd do things to code the way Pat described they said no)nnWhen they actually came to do the work, John was thorough, careful, did the work to code, and took care of some unexpected things that cropped up along the way. Definitely would use again!
Cassidy Plumbing, together with another contractor, completed a very unusual job for me, during the COVID pandemic. I could not be at the home due to age during this process and everything had to be done over the phone. It was extremely difficult to get unusual parts for this job but they worked with me during the entire process with complete understanding. The shower install was unique in that the space required was unusually small. Their cooperation and attitude was professional and the job was completed and I was actually quite surprised when I was able to get back in the house and see the finished job. I would use them again in a heartbeat. We should all be very appreciative of this kind of service during this time in our lives.
The office staff was knowledgeable addressing the issue and explained what was being done and why. We were given an itemized bill and all charges were clear. The plumbers were respectful of our home and cleaned up after their work. They went over the work with us when they completed the job. They answered all of our questions and gave us information we didn't know to ask. During this time of COVID, they followed guidelines and wore masks and kept their distance.
[Read completely for a surprise ending - it’s not just about the cost]nnFirst, I am happy to have hot water again, and I’m happy that Cassidy came out only an hour after we called. But, I’m definitely not calling them again. The technician came out ($79 dispatch fee) and looked at the water heater. He did some diagnostics, which ended up blowing a fuse on the oil burner that was working when he arrived (allegedly we did not pay for this). He determined that the problem was the thermostat on the water heater ($150). He traveled to two different supply stores for the now-broken fuse and thermostat. Our bill was $844 for the dispatch fee and “parts and labor,” - no additional breakdown - and that included a new customer discount. So, yes, I’m frustrated that the majority of our bill was labor, and that “labor” was the technician driving.nnTHEN: after the technician left, I noticed that the burner turned on every 25 minutes or so. I went down and noticed that the new thermostat was reading “at temperature,” but was calling the system for heat and running constantly. Meanwhile, the oil burner was reading “High Temperature” from running constantly. I took apart the new thermostat and saw that two wires were not properly installed and were touching! When I fixed this, the water heater is “at temperature” and not calling for constant heat. This could have easily damaged our burner from constantly running. Crazy to spend so much money for a thermostat and almost end up damaging the entire heating system.
