Friday August 14, 2020 Tony Vanoy and I stopped at Mt Morris Dam and Recreation Area on our way into Letchworth State Park in New York.nIt was part of the $10 car entry fee to enjoy the scenery and overlook areas throughout the park.nIt mainly talks about the bald eagles and turkey vultures in the area

Spectacular view of the dam from the eastern side of the canyon. It is also worth the trip going inside the museum to learn about all of the history surrounding the dam and gorge.

Extremely knowledgeable and friendly park rangers delivering informative talk and Q&A session. A small museum is perfect and filled with all the information you would want to know.

Like Letchworth but FREE. Look at those fools on the other side who paid ud83dudcb510/car! Government Issue Grills (GIGs) are available for cooking, in both standard issue and large format.

My family actually learned about this tour from a flyer posted at the bathrooms of Letchworth State Park campgrounds. Thank goodness we saw that flyer because this ended up being the best feature we saw among many great sites in the area. We just missed a tour, and the ranger (Tom) was nice enough to point out some trails to hike and lunch places to consider while waiting for the next tour. We hiked the wilderness trail, and grabbed lunch nearby. Our tour began and our guide (Tom again) was fantastic and VERY knowledgeable. None of us had ever toured a dam before, and were extremely impressed. What a site! We learned a lot, and really enjoyed the engaging tour with our guide. Definitely a must see when visiting the area. Thank you Tom, and the Army Corps of engineers.
