Planned on going their when the weather is decent enough.
The visitor center, which was very well maintained, was closed due to Covid, but the site had very informative signs and really did help you sense what these early settlers built and helped to plant in this area. Outdoor restrooms were spotless.
Interesting history. They do cool living history reenactments at least once a month. Great for kids and interesting if you like 1800s history
The volunteer staff were friendly. There were also quite a display of what it would look like and was fun to see all the historical tools and items during the 1800s
My husband and I attended the Gathering and in spite of the snow the day before we really enjoyed ourselves. The people were great and eating at Lil Bears is a must and his homemade root beer was refreshing..
