Lake Youngs is a diamond in the rough and is one of the top three best elementary schools in Kent School District. The staff definitely care about the students.nnThe community has very deep roots. Many parents and even grandparents of current students went there themselves.nnThere are sports opportunities (volleyball and track) plus chess club, choir and Boeing STEM engineering classes.nnThis is an amazing school!

We've been at Lake Youngs for 7 years and have two more to go. From the principal, teachers, to the office staff and parent volunteers, they are all top notch! The Music and Art round out an overall AMAZING environment to learn! We will be very sad to leave!

Not recommendednBully start from the teacher and PTSA.nTo be honest, they have some good teachers. The reason for one star, is the school never request the teacher and PTSA to do apologize to my child or my family. The teacher and PTSA degraded my child in front of the whole class/ parent ( Multiple times), resulted to some students degraded my child. After School knowing it, school only requested students to do apologies to my child. I believes, a good teacher, a good school, should not only tells the students to face to themselves mistakes, the teacher also should face to themselves issue. We cannot see our child smile like before. But we are thankful, our child willing to approve himself.nI am knowing it's not only our family cry in this school. Also other families cry too. I am hoping the school is place to teach the child to be good, but not the place for the child to feeling the dark. So one star to excitation this school to become a real good school.

School is great. They have good teachers and staff who care about their students. I like they do field trips and offer some extra-curricular activities. The neighborhood is safe as well. However, parking is limited, school infrastructure is getting old, and the PTSA is lacking talent. I encourage parents to help the school as much as they can by volunteering or contributing to PTSA. Parents need to be role models too. Please drive carefully, don't block the buses, park in designated spots, stop idling your cars, stop littering, and correct your children if they are doing something wrong while you are with them.

Good school, great teachers. Supportive office staff and the school counselor is knowledgeable and involved with all the kids.
