Inverness Police Department

I was involved in a not at fault auto accident. Upon arrival of the officer normal events unfolded he asked for the both parties drivers license and insurance card and then retreated to his vehicle to fill out paper work and run our licenses i presume. After a few minutes the police officer returned and displayed the other parties insurance card to me. As i was struggling to take a picture in the dark and snow of the other parties information the officer informed me that i would be able to view this information on the police report online. After learning this information i returned the insurance card to the officer and continued with the rest of the process getting a tow and going about the rest of the night.nnThe next day I attempt to use the method as provided to view the police report and learned that it would not be accessible for up to 10 days. When i called the police department too learn the name of the other party, insurance company and policy number so that i could file a claim under their policy. I was informed that it is not the stations policy to give me that information any more, even though the night prior i could have received that information and apparently in up to a week i will be able to view it. As such i will now have to start a claim against my own insurance policy and be subject to my own deductible as i can not file under the other party.nnIn short the station did an awful job at effectively communicating to me what was going to transpire. As i was unintentionally led to believe that this information would be readily available.nnI would recommend that you try and be particularly precise when dealing with this police station as it seems that details are not particularly important when dealing with them.

Very friendly. Officers are very helpful. Front office staff are very pleasant and knowledgeable.nnI love that this department has Matchbox/Hot Wheel type cars, with Inverness Police on it, that are given to children-- my boys have at least two a piece.

We got the police called on us for possible trespassing while fishing, Officer Untiedt was the officer that showed up and he was a great guy and knows what he is doing.
