Ex-Stink Sewer & Drain

I hired Harold at Ex-Stink Plumbing to relocate a washer/dryer to the second floor of my mothers home as she is mostly bed ridden with many medical issues. I was looking for a honest and reputable plumber for the job. Harold the plumber promised to get the necessary permits at the village but never deliverer and complained it was too difficult and could not be done. He stated he never pulls permits unless caught and forced. When he did not show up to meet the village inspector for the pre inspection required to obtain a permit, it was highly damaging as well as extremely embarrassing.nHarold stated he was running late in traffic and lived very far away only to arrive as the inspector was about to drive away. If distance was an issue for this plumber, I’m not sure why he would accept the job.nHarold ended up opening up unnecessary walls in additional rooms without notifying or asking me first during the brief four to five hours here. All without a permit.nThis will cost quite a lot for my mother to have to repair.nAfter consulting with other tradesmen and plumbers, the walls he opened and brief work attempted were totally incomplete and putting us in a terrible costly situation. Harold the plumber took fifty percent of $6200.00 upfront with no offer of any money back or damages leaving us out over $3,000.nI feel so foolish and upset watching my disabled mother victimized. Leaving various messages and emails for Harold hoping to resolve this, I received no response back in a over a week. It turns out he was out of town visiting his son out east as his lead plumber had walked out on him leaving Harold unable to complete certain jobs.nHarold is now asking to be paid even more after threatening me in a very hostile tone before abruptly hanging up on me.nnMy mother and I fear for our safety and were advised to call the authorities.nnIronically, the excellent plumber I had to replace Harold with from Angie’s List was able to pull the proper permits in only one 24 hour day
