Being a contractor and having to work with many villages in the Westin Chicago area, Hoffman Estates makes the contractors life much easier with the permitting process. The friendly staff always has our latest information and are always available with a friendly attitude to help.

I feel like they never can help and their request and directions are never supportive. Staff 85% of the time are rude and very friendly.

If you live in Hoffman Estates and have never been to the new Village Hall, it is worth the trip. Perhaps it isn't so new anymore. I remember the old one well but it may have been years ago since I was there.nnWe had to pick up a building permit. It was a Saturday morning and there was no wait. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. I wish I got her name or I'd give her a named compliment. Sorry about that.nnAside from the excellent service, they have a museum of Hoffman Estates in the lobby. There is plenty of artwork, a case of crystal and china from Hoffman Estate's sister city in France, and all sorts of memorabilia. It was unexpected and very fun to look at.nnEven if you have no actual business there, walking through will only take a few minutes. I would say this is a hidden gem in the burbs.
