Fayette Station Bridge

Definitely with the drive down. The road isn’t as hard as the park service makes it sound - so long as you’re not in an RV - or have a trailer - it’s a very easy drive. Parking on the east side is limited - so cross the bridge and park on the west. Lots of trails along the river as well.

This place was gorgeous. Go and see. Lots of tight switch backs, hard curves and super narrow!!

We did the Fayette Station Road drive and it was beautiful! I would recommend checking out the drive - we had a great time with beautiful views of the bridge and river. The drive winds down from near the Visitors Center and follows a switchback road from that crosses under the bridge itself twice. You are then able to cross the old bridge right over the water and you are taken to a couple different spots where you can pull off and eat (if you've packed any food or snacks)! There is also hiking opportunities near the pull-offs for even more spectacular scenery. I highly recommend, especially if you have time to take it slow and easy! You will pop out back on 19 across the river so you can always head into Fayetteville for lunch or dinner after.
