Mountlake Terrace Police Department

I have had to interact with this department within the last few months for different reasons, and the treatment I have gotten from them is very dismissive, and stone cold. They end up helping me with what I want but always with a very cold attitude, as if they are helping because they have no choice, always asking me several times what I need, but they make it very obvious that they would be better off if they did not have to help me. This applies both, to the ladies at the front window, who seem to be the records clerks for the department, and the officers with whom I have spoken with. I am a minority person and that might explain the dismissive attitude and the obvious feeling that they would rather be doing something else instead of having to interact with me, and that I am taking their time. This police department might not be used to interact with a diverse population. I always address them in a very professional and polite manner.nThe other day, I went to there facility to help a person where I was staying at to make a police report. The officer was very cold although professional. When the owner of the house went himself to complete the report, I warned him that the officer was very stone cold. But contrary to what I had predicted, this person got a totally different treatment and the police officer was very nice to him. He is white Caucasian.

I had someone in my house when I came home. Quick response time,and handled with professionalism. Also Officer Elrod was very nice to my two little girls and they were ecstatic to get a sticker.

I have a great deal of respect for the officers of Mountlake Terrace. The reason I am giving a negative review is the lady who answers the Non Emergency Line. I am a property manager and often get reports after the emergency has diffused. When I call for questions or to report suspicious behavior she makes me feel like I am wasting her time. She does not care at all for this community!nnThat being said, the police of this community are wonderful and have a great deal of care. For them I give 5 stars!!!!
