The feast here is fabulous! Unique recipes, low sodium, low sugar but high in taste. And when you hear of two courses with six dishes each you think of more of a petite tasting menu but no! This Is something that will fill you even after the first course and in the most delicious manner. Not to mention you get a glass of wine with each course. Well worth the money and I didn't even mention the entertainment - of the host and the other guests and their finery.nBeen coming here for the festival and feast for nearly 30 years!
Attended their Yuletide feast with some friends, and had a blast. We rented costumes from their costume shop, and really enjoyed the 14th Century themed buildings, dress, food and traditions. I'll definitely be coming back in the summer and hopefully I can book the inn for a meal sometime.
Went for dinner with my hubby and parents during winter and service was fantastic even though it was just 4 of us. They didn't cut corners and we had such an amazing time we just had to go back again. We attended the St James Feast this summer, this time with my sister in law and her family and they loved it! I love love love this place and it is now my life goal to experience all the different festivals and feasts! If you want to experience medieval culture then this place is the perfect portal to that world!
Wow! What a treasure, can't believe I didn't find this place earlier. The experience will transport you away to medieval living from the crafting, food, homes to the live demo of the fire forge to the live puppet show and the amazing magic show which is must see. Also buy the coins for archery is a blast if you never use a real bow and arrow and yes they will make sure you and your little ones are safe and have fun. Can't wait till next time when I can join them for dinner (need to book in advance).
Great place to spend the afternoon, excillent tavern(restaurant). Have been to two of the seasonal feasts. Highly recommend.
