My dinner tonight was great! I had a lovely experience at Glow on Saturday night with my boyfriend, as we passed through town on our way back to Dallas. Great vegetarian options and gracious service.

Sat outside with my grand kids. So beautiful with the view and the breeze. Ordered the small plates. Always SO good. Can't wait until we can actually eat inside again. Glow is my favorite restaurant in Rockport. (And there are lots of good restaurants here!)

Beware of the shrimp and grits. They are a very poor rendition of a cajun style. A bowl of oil, some quick grits, very rubbery shrimp, and when it came out, it was marked as BBQ shrimp. Cooked in worstishire sauce, brown sugar, and a few other spices. Did it have shrimp and grits? Yes. But that's the only thing that was accurate.

Really a mixed bag here. Portion size to price is a real issue. The $12 Pedro Margarita comes about 75% full on a 10oz cup (heavy ice)- when I kindly asked if they could fill the cup, they told me standoffishly that the owner doesn't want them to fill them because they might get people intoxicated. Interestingly, no limit on how many you can order (I think I had 5?) Marg itself is tasty though! Not too sweet, hint of spice.nFood and view are nice. Coconut shrimp and crab cakes are standouts, but queso was a disgrace to the state of Texas and $28 lobster roll on a ben-e-keith hot dog bun could use some thought. I've heard the steak is great. Service is mixed- had a really nice experience with the first guy I ordered from, but the owner's daughter a few days later couldn't be bothered to give much effort or positive attitude.nnAll in all- they are close to being good, but probably better places to go until they improve their details, portions and attitude.

I live 20 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico and I have never been to a restaurant that only serves 4 shrimp on a platter. The same goes for the fish platter. It is an insult for any Texan or any foreigner to pay $45 dollars for 4 shrimp and 3 pieces of fried fish. Go somewhere else! You will get a better bang for your $$$$. I try and support local businesses, but not when their prices are unreasonable.
