the goal of Edco is purely to price gouge. do not use them.nnmy two experiences with edco were equally bad.nnthe first time, my AC went out. the guy came in, went in my attic, and changed a 35 cent fuse. it took him all of 10 minutes. he then wrote me an invoice for $300. he promised that their bi-annual checkup would include things like this, and it would be good to get on a plan (told me this would also mean free small parts and whatnot). i agreed.nnso jump to the last checkup in my plan. i told them i didn't want to renew, because i didn't see the worth. at the end of the checkup, the tech came to me and said that everything looked fine, but that my capacitor was going to go bad soon. he said they charge $350 to replace them. admittedly, i know nothing about this stuff, but i knew this sounded suspicious. i told him no, and after he left, i looked up capacitors for AC units. they are a $25-$35 part, and most heat and air places charge $75-$100 (including part) to replace them. there are several DIY videos on YouTube if you want to try it yourself. it's not hard.nni eventually went out and looked at my capacitor (a year later). it looks great. he told me it was swelling and corroding, which was a complete lie. the capacitor looks like new, and there are no problems.nni'll never use this place again.
