Wonderful local history museum! Time lines from prehistory thru Paleo, and local US history. Wonderful photos of historic building of the Narrows Dam, French historical photos, with access inside a French apartment as it was during that time period and much more! Such kind friendly staff!!

Excellent 3 Museums together and all were very interesting. Took my 4 yoa granddaughter with us and it was so good. I think you will be amazed at the building of the dams and the work it took. So much history here and the changes the town has gone through. A must see visit for everyone. And especially those who live in Stanly County. Thanks Dale Ward and all the staff at the museum for a wonderful tour.

Three museum's in one stop and each one just as interesting at the last! With places like these I really don't understand why parents don't take there kids to museum's more. I mean it's 100% free, you just need the gas to get there and it's 100% educational and it's something fun to do to get the kids off of the computer or their game systems and out of the house and you are creating memories! This is a great place to start creating those memories. Even if you're not from Badin you will enjoy and appreciate the awesome history behind Badin becoming the town it is today. Even more interesting than how it became the town it is today is WHO made the town what it is today. Even the layout of the houses, PLUS the houses themselves is something to see. I had never seen anything like it! It's a very unique town with very unique qualities that's for sure. And the guy who runs the Badin Museum knows all about it. Right down to what people made the town and why the houses look the way they do and if you have a question he doesn't know the answer too he will tell you that he doesn't know instead of pretending like he knows the answer and giving you a false answer. However he is very knowledgeable and very polite and well spoken. He is retired so in his retirement he has opted to spend his time learning everything his could about his town so that he could pass along this knowledge to you and me about his town. There is also a video that plays in the museum of at least one occupant of Badin that has been around for quite a while and she has quite a story to tell. Oh and while you're on the way to the museum's be sure to look around for a missing airplane part that fell out of the sky in world war 2. The man at the museum can tell you all about that very interesting story as well.
