Colorful on the outside, funky, creative remodel on the inside, but I don't know how this even merits two stars because my room has no windows and no hot water. The woman who runs the place is charming, but for some reason had us access our rooms from the sketchy alley. A rickety stair leads up to the second floor where there is a door that opens into a hallway, except to get into the hallway you have to squeeze into the alcove next to the first room, close the door, then walk around (the door should be rehung to swing the other way).nWhen we arrived, the hallway was sweltering. An exhaust fan whirred mightily trying to suck the hot air out, but there was little wonder at why it was so hot in the hallway when I discovered that each room's air-conditioning unit vented into the hallway! Four (or more?) air-conditioning units pumping hot air into the hotel corridor is bizarre at best, and I wonder how it possibly meets building code?! The good news is that they did keep the rooms cool.nSo, back to the access: it turned out there is a stair at the front which leads right down to Main Street where there is plenty of parking. Once I discovered that, I parked on Main Street and came in through the front of the building where the stairs are much easier to use.

Offbeat, fun hotel, quiet & peaceful atmosphere. Had very comfy-cozy room & bed. Good fridge, microwave & coffeemaker, good lighting, cute clawfoot tub & plenty of hot water. Lobby small, just enuf room to stand & check in. Woman who checked me in very nice & proprietor Joann very helpful. I liked parking in the back with wide, open alley & shorter iron staircase to rooms. Had outstanding filet for dinner at Tom's on Main right next door, recommended by Joann. She also suggested a soul food restaurant across the street & Yazoo Donuts & P Reaux's a couple blocks away. Would def stay there again.

Very nice, lots of local art and friendly staff.

This was one of the worst hotels I've ever experienced. The lady up front doesn't stay overnight and gave me her cell phone. She said if I needed anything to call. I had no hot water and when I called I got no answer. She only called me back later In the day when I checked out. The hallways were like a sauna and i thought the building was going to collapse. The lady working up front also took nearly an hour to check me in which is rediculous. I would highly advise against staying here. HORRIBLE hotel and even worse customer service

The Main Street Hotel in Yazoo City is a truly unique hotel. I don't think calling it a hotel is really appropriate because it is nothing like any chain hotel. There are definitely amenities that a traditional chain hotel has that you won't find here, but the atmosphere, friendly people, and eclectic furnishings make this unique stay one which you will never forget.
