Allowed them to list ny house because they were the only real estate agency in town. I won't go into all the times they either let clients use the toilet without flushing or did it themselves, or when they broke things and didn't tell me, or even that they didn't let me know what rooms were experiencing issues. Had the house on the market for a year before I was brought a single decent offer. It was only the second offer ever received, and my agent almost refused to let me counter it to try to not be any further in the hole. Even though I explained many times that we had not lived in the house long enough to pay down the principal by any noteworthy amount, she was still shocked and contacted me like it was a surprise 3 days before closing. That would have been entirely too late to get a loan if I hadn't already known. They asked for a sale incentive less than 6 months on the market, before bringing me any offers. Seriously. They also told the buyers to get the utilities changed over to their name before closing, illegally taking possession of my home, without telling me. I only found out due to their incompetence. You are better off selling your house on your own. You probably have more experience.
