This police department routinely runs a stop sign patrol anywhere on maple avenue. Its literally nothing more than to line the coffers of the department and city of takoma park. They try to blame it on the people who live in the apartment complexs around the stop sign in question. But scouring thru police records and town meeting records there are absolutely no complaints from any residents in that area.

I don’t understand there interest! They are not investigating crime well. They are good on parking tickets only!

I called Takoma Park Police about an auto collision in the parking lot of RT Automotive around 8AM and waited nearly 3 hours. Nobody showed up and, more importantly, nobody ever called me about the delay. I finally drove to the police station on Maple and made the report. I realize that my call was a non-emergency, but the police department can do a better job of notifying people as opposed to expecting you to wait untold hours for a policemen to show up and take a report. Maybe you can develop a system to take reports over the telephone and issue report numbers in the same way. It is EXTREMELY unprofessional to expect somebody to lose their whole day waiting for a policemen when something like this can be handled over the phone.
