I am grateful to be able to take my children through a small portion of the network of places that comprised the Underground Railroad that led enslaved people to freedom. I would have loved more information embedded in the trail at the various markers. I supplemented with things I remember learning from history class and reading. We imagined what it would feel like or where we could hide if followed. I hope to go back and learn more and I hope to study more to appreciate the fullness of the experience...and finish the trail.

This was an incredible experience. An experience that will forever stay embedded in my soul. The look in my daughters eyes when she realized slaves had no beds or anything comfortable said 1000 words.

I rate the trail 5 stars. The Manor House and stone barn were closed. Restrooms closed. The trail is a good representation of the underground railroad. Not a loop trail . There are a couple of paths off the trail to the road. Recommend walking the trail and having someone pick you up a designated place. Trail is shown on Google Maps.

Easy hiking trail with some nice historical information along the way. Young children can navigate it easily. The trail is narrow and makes maintaining social distance when passing other hikers difficult at times.
