As Capital Hill has a surprising lack of hardware stores ShopRite works in a pinch. It has most commonly needed hardware but generally one brand of each and not always of quality. It is a hardware/variety/dusty corner mom and pop and could be appealing if not for the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke which which permeates the store.
Hey, reviewers griping about prices....real estate on Capitol Hill is EXPENSIVE. You wanna save a buck fifty on a can of spray paint by driving 20 mins (each way) to navigate a soul crushing maze of endless aisles at Home Depot, go right ahead. What you are getting here is convenience, the pleasure of walking to our little 15th Avenue village, and the satisfaction of supporting a friendly family-owned business.nnDoesn’t really look like a hardware store from the outside but it is, plus tons of other household goods.
