We Started the process of buying a house.... gave them a deposit of $5000. We made it very clear we did NOT want to be in a HOA & they assured us there was none... WRONG! A couple of days in we found out accidentally... there is a HOA, but they call it an Architectural Committee & some kind of yearly fees for Parks. They absolutely refuse to do any changes... we did not want grass in our front yard landscaping, they insisted they were going to put it in & then you have to go thru the “Architectural Committee” to take it out & put in rocks (desert scape). We decided to back out of the buying process within the 5 day buyers remorse period. Wouldn’t you think that they would hold the ernest deposit till the 5 days was up.... no, they cashed the check the day we said we were backing out, then took 6 weeks to return the money (with attitude!). All I can say about Lennar.... check reviews BEFORE you buy.
