My favourite place I’ve visited so far!! The only place I checked on google how it looks like and when I got there I told myself google didn’t lie. Lol exactly same pictures online and in person! I’m in awe! Couldn’t believe what I experienced. This is a magical place and you will just listen to the sound of wind, water and appreciate life!
Stunning scenery, obviously. A bit crowded for my tastes. I also wasn't a fan of having to start with a shuttle and expensive parking. I suppose that's what you have to expect from one of the most photographed spots in Colorado. Still, starting the 4 pass loop from the extremely heavily trafficked maroon bells trail head will make you really want to put in some miles quickly. A fairly strenuous trip if you do it in 3 days. Some very nice camping spots though again, it's crowded, so try to get early starts each day I guess.
Hiked the Four Pass Loop in Maroon Bells 7/30 to 8/2/2020. Incredible scenery and a challenging hike. 4 days, 3 nights and 31 miles of perfect Colorado hiking. I came in on the Crested Butte side (East Fork TH) and traveled clockwise. This is a popular route so be prepared to see some people but there was still plenty of solitude.
Beautiful Place...we had to be on stand by list as we didnt make any reservations for visiting this place.. even though on stand by we were still able to reach and hike thru some trails...the view is absolutely stunning
