Hand's down the best tour guide I've ever had the pleasure of meeting! She captured our imagination and introduced us to the people involved in the mine's (and region's) history in an engaging and captivating way. Our tour guide Brenda was engaging, informative and quite fun! Brenda, a former miner, has a great passion and insight regarding the mining history in this area, as well as the Tabor family. Not only did we learn an abundance of history about Leadville, we gained a new friend!nnPut this on your list of things to do in Leadville!
The matchless mine is a well preserved silver mine that plays a prominent place in Colorado's mining history. Visitors can can take either a self guided tour or else a guided tour of the property to learn the history of the Tabor family that owned the mine. Both tours are worth taking. We took the guided tour a few years ago. This time, we took the self guided tour because we had our young grandson with us. There are numerous places where descriptive signs explain how the mine operated.
