This place has turned into the local homeless camp and is now very sketchy, especially at night. Avoid at all costs. The building is locked 24/7 to prevent the homeless from congregating, but it doesn't work. Now they are just punishing the honest working people who now have nowhere to hide from bad weather or use the bathroom while waiting.

The waiting room has been locked 24/7 since some time in the fall or winter of 2019, so if you need to use the restroom or if the weather's bad, too bad, deal with it. This place has also been overrun by the local homeless population. Drug use is frequent. Lots of police activity and ambulances always coming and going for overdoses.

The station building is newly renovated with a comfortable waiting room and outdoor electronic status boards announcing departures and arrivals. Very convenient.

Lirr did a great job with the renovation. Very quaint.

what can l say it's a train station, you can buy your tickets from a vending machine 24/7 the lobby is open to stay warm in winter.
