Lloyd Harbor Police Department

To whom it may concern - Yesterday started out as a very nice beautiful day outside.nnIt seemed like everyone was yearning to get outside, go by the water, take pictures and just get fresh air during this very difficult and challenging time.nnAnd then your police department showed up in disgraceful fashion. My wife and I parked on the side of the road (along with everyone else) and unbeknownst to us there was a no parking sign. We had parked to get out of the car for two minutes and take a picture of the scenery and walked back across the street to our car. We got to our car before the police officer arrived and even had the door open to get in. The officer still proceeded to write a ticket without even issuing a warning. To compound the issue he was downright nasty and made a smart remark to my wife while writing the ticket. Complete lack of professionalism, empathy and class!nnIs this how you want your law enforcement to represent you and your town? Given the circumstances with the virus (which my wife and I were both diagnosed positive) how could you not train your department to offer a good faith warning first and foremost?nnIt is because you are focused on money before community and have made a conscious decision that having a little bit of mercy or empathy is just not in your DNA as a town.nnThis letter will go to the very top of Lloyd Harbor administration and I won’t stop until I am satisfied that my complaint was heard.nnYou and your town should be ashamed of what took place on a beautiful sunny day yesterday. It was pathethic and low class and you got your wish we will never visit or recommend to anyone else to visit your town again.nnSent from my iPad

Was given a ticket for a head light out. When cop left I got out of my car both headlights were working. Was given a ticket for no reason

Having lived in Lloyd Harbor for 20 years all I can say is that this department is lazy, incompetent, and disgustingly overpaid. They will manufacture ways of ticketing you even if you have not violated any traffic laws as thats the only reason they have jobs. Their obvious manufacturing of tickets to meet quotas is probably the least objectionable thing about them and that is saying a lot. These are truly the nicest things I can say about them. I will not at all be surprised when an eventual audit of this police department reveals the breadth of its gross incompetence.
