I usally come for the light shows. The only problem i ever had are the other guest that attend and talking during the show but other then that the shows are amazing and a must go see
Beautiful place! It was a little getaway from a daily life especially this hurtful era. They provide hand sanitizers at the place. There is a little shack (kind of) for chips and hot cocoa/coffee, but I recommend you can pack some snacks on your own and have them in the car at the parking lot.nI would go back some day!
Many people aren't aware of the rich history here in Long Island. Much of the north shore was dotted with mansions and architectural marvels from the Vanderbilts, Rockefellers, and other American business magnates of the 1800's. The tour of the grounds, rich historical relevance, conservation and science facts, not to mention the planetarium definitely makes the Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium a must see! Although, if you are visiting the planetarium, enquire about the show you are going to see. Some are just a movie projected on a large overhead screen versus a traditional sky replication. Regardless, clearly a 5 star experience.
Vanderbilt was an amazing man. Always enjoy this place. It's beautifully designed and not too big to take in on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Planetarium shows are also fun. Great way to spend time with the kids, everyone is sure to find something to remember here!
I finally came to this beautiful place! The view was breathtaking on a sunny day. It’s very crowded On the site over the long Weekend but social distance was well respected. You can bring your own food for a picnic on the lawn.
