Dean was extremely unprofessional with us and got even worse toward the end of our lease. Make sure if there are any arrangements made it’s all in writing. We put in a 30-day-notice and our last day was mid month. We left the house cleaner than we moved in and Dean tried to claim the house was trashed and we didn’t give enough notice even though we had made arrangements with him already. And he didn’t want to give us our deposit back. We threatened taking him to court, and only after that did he finally agree to give us our deposit back. Towards the end of our lease most of the conversations he had with us, he was extremely rude, cussed at us, and was just plain disrespectful.

Very unprofessional. His properties aren’t well maintained. Jerry rigs maintenance issues at the expense of tenants. Half a summer we called many times to have Mr Bishop fix the air conditioner that wasn’t running. His response was hose it down every couple hours.... this was not a temporary fix until someone could come look at it.. this is what he considered a permanent fix. We had to call a secondary HVAC company ourselves to come fix it. Come to find out they tell us the system was overcharged with freon and that it was malfunctioning. When we brought his faults to attention he became very defensive and actually started cursing at us. When given the same treatment back he asks why we are being this way as if he was the victim.

We rented from Mr. Bishop for a little less than 6 years and his reputation is wholly unfounded. There were some things that he would not fix, but if something major came up you can bet there would be someone there to address the issue that day or the next. And if you treated him with respect and paid your bills, he treated you with the same respect. It was a pleasure working with him for so long. We bought a house or we'd still be there.
