Some very good friends of mine have children who attend Lenawee Christian Academy. I have attended a couple of events there with my children (most revently, the talent show and Friends & Family day). My daughter was so impressed with the school, that she asked to go there, even though we live in Newport, over an hour away. The school made a positive impression on all of us.nRecently though, I have heard some unsettling news about the way some parents are advising their children to avoid other children, based on perceived character flaws. These flaws included “playing too many video games”, kids who “aren’t athletic enough”, and kids who “make bad decisions” by wearing brightly colored clothing. To make matters worse, one such parent is also an administrator at LCS. I find this type of judgmental exclusion to run contrary to Matthew 7:1-5. This type of behavior may be accepted at secular schools, but I would assume that a Christian school would not look kindly on this type of superficial, judgemental behavior. What a shame that it comes from an employee that is responsible for setting and/or applying the code of conduct for the student body. Seems sort of hypocritical to me.
Beautiful school with top notch facilities, staff, and faith based teaching. Highly recommend!
