I am disappointed in Jackson. K-5 is okay but the middle school level needs help. Its unfair that the 8th grade graduation, trip, and banquet have been cancelled due to failing students. My daughter worked her butt off to have decent grades and we have been looking forward to the 8th grade festivities all year! I feel if the ceremony had to be cancelled there should at least have been a small celebration or ceremony for the students that have passed 8th grade. I feel my daughter has been robbed of one of her first biggest milestones.

The last few years this school has gone down hill. With the revolving door of teachers, which has gotten worse this year, the students are suffering. This year, most of the 8th graders are failing and the school decided not to have graduation. I know the kids hold some responsibility, however with most of the 8th graders in the same boat, I’m disappointed that the school and administration hasn’t taken responsibility for this. My daughter was doing well last semester and with only being notified as of last month of an issue..this leaves me very dismayed by the schools lack of responsibility and poor education of our children. Shame on you Jackson for failing our children. Not only in the classroom..but in their educational experience.

School is NOT INTERESTED in the CHILDS needs. They use the wrong strategies for Discipline and Teaching.

I gave one star because I had too. Where do I start...well I have two students that attends this school. One of which has major behavioral problems and is currently receiving all the help he can outside of school. He has a 504 plan in place which has NEVER been taken into consideration until the end of the school year. He was also tested for an IEP with outdated information in his file. Needless to say, according to some, “HE IS A GIFTED, SMART, AWESOME KID”, if he applies himself. Well considering he has ADHD, ADD and is also in the middle of being tested for Autism, it’s kind of hard to “APPLY HIMSELF” they way they want him too. I have been back and fourth with this school constantly fighting for my child an education. Well the other child has been bullied from other students and still try to get her education because she’s a little older with less problems and understand the importance of education. To sum things up, I feel as if their are very few who are here for the children’s education. While some are here for a check and just agree to anything anyone say’s because they fear their job or something. Which is I can believe because the turn over rate is very high. I must say, I’m not in denial about my child behavior and I am a very active parent when it comes to both my children education. His behavioral has A LOT to do with his mental illness and this school doesn’t understand the true effects of trauma and kid’s with mental issues. So if your child/children needs extra help, attention and or needs, this is definitely NOT the school for him/her. Currently waiting for a meeting for explosion for a second grader!
